看了一齣《愛因斯坦和愛丁頓》，原本抱著以看科學的心態去看這部戲，看完後覺得真的很好看，不論在拍攝的角度和劇本的鋪敍都很好，不過我想是要真正的的學科學的人才能夠明白了吧！
看完之後我只可以說愛丁頓太偉大了，為了一個理論作了那麼多，科學真的是無分國界！
這是 2008 年 BBC 製作的電視電影 Einstein and Eddington，講述 Eddington 和 Einstein 之間的故事。Eddington 是英國天文學家，他最有名的事蹟就是率領一個觀測隊到西非觀測日全食以證實 Einstein 的相對論。當時 Einstein 的理論並沒有被接受與認同，但 Eddington 可說是首先認識到 Einstein 理論的正確性與重要性，因此獨排眾議跑到西非去進行驗證實驗。
根據廣義相對論理論，太陽的重力會使光線彎曲，太陽附近的星星視位置會變化，因此透過日全食，我們可以觀測到日全食時太陽附近的星星位置，並以此驗證廣義相對論的正確性。
但是除此之外，他在天文物理上還有非常多的貢獻，也擔任過劍橋大學天文台台長，國際天文學聯合會主席等等。更因其卓越的貢獻獲得了騎士爵位與榮譽勳章 (Order of Merit)。
不過，因為跟 Einstein 扯上關係，可能除了天文物理學界之外，他的其他貢獻就比較不為人所知了。

宇宙中的一切都是有秩序的，所有事物都被一種力束縛在一起，重力。每件事發生都有原因的，那不奇妙嗎？

I was invited precisely at the time I was supposed to arrive here, therefore it was impossible for me to be here when I left. The energy which an object has because of its motion will increase its mass, the increase in mass makes it harder for the object to increase its speed. Try as he might, the brilliant scientist setting out to meet the fat industrialist was always going to be late.
我剛好被邀請在我本該到達這裡的時間，所以在我離開的時候就不可能到達這裡了。一件物體擁有能量是因為它的運動增加了質量，而物質的增加導致了速度的減慢，也就是說 優秀科學家出來見一個肥胖的實業家總是要晚的。
（這一句我看了兩次英文字幕才能夠笑出來！愛因斯坦的諷刺真的很妙！）
